Yesterday was my sister’s wedding dress try-on. We had a great time. All the women of the family and some from the in-laws were there. We drank champagne and ate light food that was not greasy. She looked stunning in all the ones she tried on. It was difficult to choose the right one. Just when we thought “This is the one” she tried another one that was prettier, or more elegant. She wanted a dress that would not rob the attention, that let her shine for herself and no for how beautiful the dress is.
How do you get that? I think wedding dresses are meant to be beautiful and the focal point of the wedding. Everything is pretty much about the dress isn’t? But well, you know my sister, she is a little strange so from amongst the several dresses she tried on, she finally made her mind on a dress that is nothing like the regular wedding dress, but now that i think about it I bet it was hard for her to decide because there were a bunch of women talking at the same time, commenting: “Oh no. That’s not flattering at all.”, “You shouldn’t wear mermaid. Try an A-line dress.”, “White is NOT her color, right? Does that come in ivory?”
We were in this ginormous, just-for-you dressing room and I just remained sitting in a bench conveniently located towards the back of the room where I could see the whole chaos, but did not get involved much, I drank and ate the whole time.
All of that was fine—it was still a totally fun experience.
